Sleepless in Hutto, TX

I would be lying if I said that I had a good night sleep, in fact, my Vivofit said that I got only 3 hours of deep sleep and 5 hours of light! I sleep with the window up so I can hear the coyotes if they show up...and of course, they did right after we got in bed. Fred and I quickly dressed, and with flashlights and gun in hand we headed out to see if we could see anything. The yipping and howling had all the animals up and nervous. As typical, we scanned the horizon with our lights and they took off, never to be heard again.

With all of the reading, books and on FB groups, it takes over a year (or 2) to get an LGD to truly do their job, so I will learn to understand that this is all part of a process, as well as be patient, consistent with training, and alert while sleeping.

After eating their puppy chow, the pups were full of energy this morning. The lambs were very hungry and each took their 8 oz. wanting to be rubbed, scratched and petted. I promised their surrogate mom, Janet Crumpler, that I would continue to love of the lambs. It was a very hard "goodbye" yesterday for her.
